Today I secretly dedicated the day to playing, following the boys lead. A good deal of play happens everyday here but I'm always juggling what has to get done with fun kid times and 'learning opportunities' for the home schooled kindergartener. So today was about me listening to what they wanted to do and making it happen. We printed out colouring pages from the computer, slapped together a simple cardboard box car they made mostly by themselves, built duplo robots, cities and had sword fights. We even managed to do some science experiments and math manipulations, but who labels it learning when it's all play! The Best!

ReplyDeleteyes, I was surprised actually! it's rare that he requests colouring pages (it's usually free form) so I had no idea.
